From the very first day, you will experience a sense of community at RML. When your loved one arrives, he or she is greeted by an assigned RML care coordinator and other members of our staff. The patient’s individualized treatment regime is managed by the care coordinator who will assist you with scheduling meetings with the physician to discuss the patient status and discharge planning. Because family plays a very important role in the healing process, you can be assured we will listen to your concerns and answer your questions regarding your loved one’s progress.
Supporting your needs
Dealing with the realities of illness is often stressful and trying. To help you through this difficult time, we invite you to take advantage of our many family support services. These include group meetings where you can share your experiences with the families of other patients, education sessions to learn how to administer patient therapies at home, or assistance in preparing a Living Will or a Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care. Whatever your needs, we are here to help. It’s important to point out that in some cases, no matter what is done, patient outcomes are not always positive and families are left to weigh the options available to them. Our psychologists, physicians, chaplains, and care coordinators are on hand to help you with any decision that must be made.
We also understand that the cost of care is an important consideration. RML Specialty Hospital maintains affiliations with most major managed care and indemnity insurance companies and accepts Medicare, Illinois Medicaid, private insurance, and qualified charity care.
