Referral information

Referrals are subject to an on-site evaluation conducted within 24 hours by an RML Specialty Hospital Clinical Liaison Nurse. Our liaison nurses understand the sensitivities associated with moving a patient from a referring hospital to a long-term acute care hospital. They work closely with families and social workers to ensure that all aspects of the process run smoothly and appear seamless to the families. Respectful of a patient’s privacy and the mandates of HIPAA, our nurses take special care to make recommendations for the patient and share information with the appropriate family members or authorized individuals. In addition, they can answer financial and insurance questions that may arise.

If you need information about referring a patient to RML Specialty Hospital, contact an Intake Coordinator at 630.286.4100, or e-mail us at [email protected].
